因應全球化與國際化的趨勢，政府致力於提升國民英語能力，以2030年為目標，將台灣打造為雙語國家，培育雙語專業人才，大學端專注於「全英語授課」，文藻外語大學謹訂於113年7月3日(星期三)辦理「EMI教學的共向與岐向」線上學術研討會，希冀探討英語做為教學媒介(EMI)的共通點與差異處。
本次研討會討論題目包含從EMI延展出的可能議題，例如CLIL或CBI(內容導向教學)，甚至如何融入SDGs或AI等可能的教學，歡迎各地的教育界專家、學者、實踐者及碩士生投稿參與，分享EMI教學領域以及其他跨領域的研究成果、教學方法和案例，期待能促進EMI教育的共同發展。
本研討會活動內容分為「主題演講」與「論文發表」，會後將彙集研討會成果，暫定於113年9月出版專書，供各界作為EMI政策推動之參考。

In response to the trends of globalization and internationalization, the government in Taiwan is dedicated to enhancing the English proficiency of its citizens. With the goal set for 2030, Taiwan aims to become a bilingual nation and nurture bilingual professionals. Universities have focused on "English as a Medium of Instruction" (EMI) as a specialization. In line with these efforts, Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages is pleased to announce the conference with " Convergences and Divergences of English Medium Instruction (EMI) Teaching " as the main topic, scheduled for July 3rd, 2024 (Friday) to explore the commonalities and distinctions in English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI).
The topics to be discussed at this conference include various issues that stem from EMI, such as CLIL or Content-Based Instruction (CBI), and even how to incorporate teaching methods related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Additionally, we welcome submissions from graduate students. In essence, we aim to bring together experts, scholars, and practitioners in the field of EMI education and related interdisciplinary research. We hope to facilitate the sharing of their research findings, teaching methodologies, and case studies to foster the mutual development of EMI education.
The conference program will include "Keynote Speeches" and "Paper Presentations." After the conference, the selected papers will be compiled for a tentative publication of a book in September 2024. This publication will serve as a reference for policymakers and stakeholders in promoting EMI policies.
